Introduction
Hi, my name is Erik, and this is my developer blog.
I am a Senior Software Engineer at Cisco. I currently lead UI development for the Automated Validation Framework module. Before Cisco, I worked on complex GIS Electric Utility applications. Modeling flow networks in mapping applications and integrating that data with other applications.
I’ve also been doing solo indie dev at night for a long time now. I have a few projects I use daily, and while they aren’t perfect, I find them pretty enjoyable.
Better Commits, an open source git CLI for creating conventional commits, branches, and worktrees. It currently has 2.3k+ stars and 200k+ downloads. - My long time passion projects are Tomatillo Timer and Flotes. They have a collective 4k sign-ups, primarily through grass roots efforts, like blogging.
Verdevium
Verdevium, is a mouth-full, but it has a lot of hidden meaning. My last name shares many of the same letters and sequence. The name contains the words verde (green) and dev. Green reminds of efficiency, growth, and positivity. Core values that I want this blog to uphold.
Additionally, I am huge fan of Dungeons and Dragons. Our DM created a resource in our campaigns called “Mythrium”. I wanted to remind myself of that same playfulness/creativity in my blog.
